Kirusa names Atanu Mandal as Managing Director India
Atanu started Cellnext Solutions, the first Indian Mobile VAS company in 2000 before continuing his journey in ACL Wireless as President with overall charge of sales, service delivery, and product development, and then at Unified Telecom as Director till end of 2010, serving in top leadership positions and steering these companies into a position of strength within the Industry. Prior to this, he worked in various key positions with telecom operators during 1995-2000. He has served as the Head of Strategy & Planning for Escotel (now Idea Cellular), as CFO for Modi Telstra (now Bharti Airtel) and as CMO for Essar Cellphone (now Vodafone) during his stint with telecom operators. Atanu Mandal commented on his appointment by stating, “Kirusa’s expertise and leadership in mobile services has lead to its presence across the globe and I am looking forward to being closely involved in Kirusa’s vision of becoming the world's leading vendor of mobile social media and value added services.” He further added, “We are looking forward to conceptualize and launch several new applications that can lead to significantly higher monetization from Kirusa’s platform installations across the globe.” Atanu holds an MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad and a B.Tech. degree in electrical & electronics engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has served as a Chairman of Mobile VAS committee of the Internet & Mobile Association of India (IMAI) during 2010-2011.
